Believe it or not, according to the SBA (Small Business Administration) recessionary times tend to see a growth in start up businesses. As many as 600k businesses per year tend to be started. People loose their jobs and decide to take the plunge.
That does not mean all of them will make it. Taking the plunge involves risk and you need to be prepared to handle that risk. Here are a few questions you might want to ask yourself before taking the plunge:
Do you enjoy being a leader? Do you have commitment? Can you sell? Will you follow through on what needs to completed? Have you every been in charge of anything before? Do you truly have the desire? (This one is probably the most important quality in my opinion)These are just a few questions to ask yourself before beginning.
